Hobbledehoy

William is about two years old, more or less.  He was adopted and doesn't remember his birthday.  Anyway, in dog years that makes him about 14. An awkward, ungainly youth.  A gawky teenage boy.  So when this word popped up on my Word-A-Day app, I knew I had to use it.  It IS William.

Here is he letting me know his water dish is empty by playing soccer with it.  William is never without water for more than a couple of minutes, the annoying little hobbledehoy.
